Nick Kristof, New York Times columnist and 2024 Peter Kihss Award recipient, headlined our Silurians’ luncheon Wednesday, May 15.
Kristof, a two-time Pulitzer winning columnist and correspondent, received the award not just for a distinguished career but for mentoring young reporters. His varied philanthropic and mentoring programs have been recognized around the world. He’s even taken young journalists on his overseas reporting trips.
Kristof talked about his new memoir, “Chasing Hope: A Reporter’s Life.” It chronicles his dispatches from the Tiananmen Square protests, the Yemeni civil war, the Darfur genocide in Sudan, and many other hot spots.
