Mel Laytner was a reporter and editor of hard news for nearly twenty years, much of it as a foreign correspondent covering the Middle East for NBC News and United Press International. He hold master’s degrees from Columbia School of Journalism and the School of International Affair. He’s also recipient of Knight-Bagehot fellowship in Business and Economic Journalism. His memoir, What They Didn’t Burn: Uncovering My Father’s Holocaust Secrets, was published 2021. Mel serves on the Executive Committee of the Highlands Current, an award-winning non-profit newspaper in the Hudson Valley, NY.
